Bit of advice about an ethernet splitter

Hi just postin for a bit of advice. My girlfriend's going to university tomorrow and she'll be sharing a room with another girl, the problem is that there'll only be one ethernet connection coming into the room so they'll have to take turns at using the internet on their laptops.

I was looking up online about a splitter that might split the internet connection between the two so they can both use it at the same time. This is what ive come up with but im not 100% that its what im looking for.

for a plain wired connection all you need is a network switch and some network cables.

if you want to go wireless, get a wireless router
