I know how to make a DVD copy that will play on the DVD player ... but I can not take my YOU Tube downloaded files and play them on a DVD player ... I have tried many times with no luck... Now I know that I can play almost any video on my computer...

Foot note the only DVD's I copy are the ones I buy for my kids.... They play them, scratch them, and then I make another copy...

It's actually wrong........:) you need to buy them first, then copy them, and then finally let your kids scratch them ( The Copies).
What you can do is use DVD Copy or Clone DVD to make a copy of the DVD that you already have. Or you can rip them to Divx format and have several movies on one DVD with good quality. These Divx files are played in any Sony Certified or Divx Certified DVD players.
Use DivX Converter for this and then itself helps you write it or multiple files to make a Divx Disc.

You can get the softwares form
http://www.divx.com/

And the clone dvd software from

yes you are correct I buy them first... Then I use "Ashampoo" to make a copy... But this will not change the way the file looks to the dvd player... So you are saying I need to chage my "flv" files to mpeg2 files? or what?

Free :)? I really don't know if it can be done for free, not unless you used a Program Illegally......
Programs that I use are pretty cheap so it really doesn't matter that much.
WinAVI All in One Converter,RipBot264,Any Video Converter Professional etc etc
are just a few which work pretty well. And the resulting files are nice and clean.

well I concerted the flv to Mpeg 2 and tried concerting it from flv to DVD or VOB and when I put the disk in the DVD, VCR player it said wrong disk... Back to square one... Basically my computer see the file as a VOB or a MPEG 2 but the DVD player can not or does not see it as a DVD... now what???
