I bought a $130 motherboard back in January 2010, and just recently one of the capacitors blew on it and now I cannot play games. Was debating whether or not I should spend the money on some caps and solder a new one on or just simply buy a new Mobo since my current one's so outdated.
Here's the model of it: http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=395
Think the mobo couldn't handle the voltage the GPU required so one of the caps blew? I don't want to solder a new cap in just for this to happen again.
Also if you were to suggest a new mobo which one would it be?
Here are the rest of my specs:
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
Memory: 3584MB RAM
PSU: Thermaltake TR2 800W
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
