Need to find new pc with an i5, please help

I'm trying to convince my parents to upgrade our computers quite some time now, but I still don't know which one to recommend. I was thinking of something with an intel i5 sandy bridge cpu, at least 4 gig of ram, and usb 3.0. (A gpu will come later). They want to try to keep a budget of $500-$600.






Please help, what were stuck with now is a dell dimension 2400 with...

CPU. Intel Pentium 4 2.4 GHz, single core
RAM. 2 gig of ddr2 ram
GPU. integrated
OS. MS windows XP 32 bit

I would really appreciate it if you could help me out

Is this too pricey? It has a cheaper video card good for gaming at lower resolutions. What monitor do you have?

Our monitor is fine for now, its like 18-20 inches and I'm pretty sure it's 720p. The build you gave me is pretty good, but im not liking the motherboard to much.
