New Build Advice. Thanks

So about every 5 years I build myself a new PC. I got lazy about 3 years ago and just bought a DeLL Laptop, my mistake :-(
So Ive been out of the game a little while and after some research this is the part list I came up with. Im not looking to spend a ton of cash but I do want a semi-powerful machine that I will not have to upgrade for some time. Any advice would be great especially if one or more of these parts have know issues I should be aware of. Thanks in advance.

I've trimmed what I can off the price. I'm unsure of the speakers, just seems a lot to spend, but it was the only one I found with a decent price for optical input.

ya the speakers I would like to not get but like I said it has the optical input and thx certified so I can also hook up my 360 and ps3 and the same room (if I wanted) and the MoBo has optical out. They are pricey though >.<

I thought about upgrading to 2 4890's its like a extra $80 even more for the XoC and not sure if the performance will justify it.

I admit on the PSU I do want 1000watt or so because of the power hungry components, however I have always been torn on them. I dont want to spend $200 or so and 1000watt at $99 seemed great and dint really have any negative reviews so any help on PSUs would be great.

A cheap 1000w PSU is worse than a good quality 500w PSU, a cheap one will die.

For those components you need a 600w PSU, a 750w would give you plenty of headroom.

Those speakers aren't really worth it. You should save for a decent HTiB, it will sound far better.

Thanks, the PSU is the same price range and from what Im reading will handle my set up just fine.

I have had Onkyo stuff before however it never dawned on me that I could use a theater set up for my computer. I guess one optical one is just as good as another. Great call. Still pricey but Ill just buy my speakers later and save up.

I have yet newb and get flamed so im guess the rest of the components are pretty sound Ill let this thread set until Monday and If I didnt screw up to bad Ill start ordering parts.

+1 for the Scythe Mugen 2.

The Coolermaster V8 looks very nice but its performance on a heavy overclock falls shy of some other units like the Scythe Mugen 2 and Prolimatech Megahalems.

I do like the ram .. ty for the heads up I think I will go with that Ram .. better speeds and same price. Also no real negative feedback about it or the brand.

Also like the monitor .. Will research the quality Vs Samsung However it is 1920x1080 and full 1080p so seems great at first glance.

Appreciate the finding items for cheaper too. Gonna stay with the 30g SSD no need for a bigger one for what Ill use it for.

Also still checking out the CPU Coolers .. The V8 is not supposed to block your Ram slot .. unless you forget to put your ram in first and it comes with paste. I will though check out your recomendations.

Unless you have a real need for the SSD you might want to hold off on purchasing them. Unless you are a design professional they have limited advantages for the average user. Also keep in mind the relative small size, assuming you put your OS on the drive you won't have much room for other programs and files, and anything stored outside the drive will see no benefit in boot times or read/write speed.

Looking at the 4890s Im hearing people complain about heat issues. I will be OCing this system and plan to add more fans to my HAF 932 .. noise was never a huge deal to me.. However anyone know if I will be needing after market coolers for the GPUs as well? I did read with the proper PSU there is less of a issue. (Currently going with either the Corsair TX750 or TX850)

And for the SSD the main reason I am going to install one is for the OS and Games mainly .. all storage needs will be on a second HD. My SSD needs are for general OS speeds, gaming (never have more then one or 2 games installed at once .. not enough hours in the day), and when I finish up I will possibly do my photo editing on it as well. Just running CS4 and lightroom on the SSD will help a lot in render times, all pictures will be stored on the second drive, aside from my current project. As a general Reference WoW takes up 15gb after 4 years of updates and it is completely installed on the drive, not running off a CD/DVD. I am no longer playing this game. Aion however I am playing at 8gb and that is all for my gaming atm. Windows 7 clean install will be about a 6gb install CS4 and light room run about 100MB each bring my total to just under 15gb so 30gb SSD drive will do just what I want it to do.

So I think I have the right idea about the SSD, but if I made a mistake on how and what they are used for I am more then willing to 'get learned'. You know what they say fake til you make it!

As a side note I will be playing other games and they will be off the SSD .. unless they are my flavor of the month so to speak.

I think you have the overall right idea. SSD will improve boot and load times, and if you often move large files around on the drive it will help with that also because of the better read/write speeds. It will not make games run any faster, and will not improve the basic functions of most apps, though.
