Ok so here is my problem....i'm thinking to buy a gtx550 ti (evga)...but i would like to know how much will be the perfomance diference versus the evga gtx 260 (my gpu)... i will use a 1080p ressolution...so i need to know if the perfomance/price will be something efficient whit games like Crysis 2 and AC Brotherhood and high graphs games... so if someone can help me whit this little doubt...and if u can tell me the perfomance diference more in % (not exactly necessary but will be nice for me)...

My PC specs now are:
MOBO: XFX 750I SLI ultra
CPU: Intel q9400 @ 2.66GHZ
RAM: OCZ 2x2Gbs @800mhz and 1 PNY of 2 Gbs @800mhz (6 Gbs in total)
GPU: Evga GTX 260 @ Default Specs
PSU: ACE 950W whit 72A

And thx for the help anyway....

The 550 Ti is a B$ card, i haven't seen worst card some quite time.
To OP the minimum i would upgrade from a GTX260+ would be an HD 6870. Minimum.

Have you actually seen the benchmarks of the 550 ti?The 550 ti is exactly powerful as the amd 5770.Now the gtx 260(not considering dx 11)is around 7-8% faster than the 5770 so the gtx 260 is atcually faster than 550 ti

What?
The HD 5770 is not as fast as a the GTX 550ti, last time I checked the GTX 550 ti was 15-30% better than the HD 5770.

It wouldn't be much of a change. The 550TI is only a little faster than a 5770, which is a little slower than a 260 sp 216, or about the same as the sp 192 version. If you want a meaningful upgrade your best bet is to add another 260 in SLI, so long as you get one with the same number of sps as what you have ^_^

Haha Crysis 2, well obviosly you didn't know that Crysis games favor Nvidia in the first 1-2 generations.

Anyways, the GTX 550 Ti is a B$ card, worst card of 2011 by far. And a real upgrade from a GTX260+ would be an HD 6870 and up, nothing below that.

GTX 550 Ti, is a bad card for its money. They are just asking too much. 550 GTX ti can't beat HD 5770 as a whole. What I mean is that it does not win when it comes to all the benchmarks. It can't even beat the GTX 460 768 MB, although in some games.

GTX 560 Ti would be a worthy upgrade or as posted a HD 6870 and above.

the 550 replaces the 450 which replaced the 250
the 560 replaces the 460 which replaces the 260

The 260 was the second card out in the 200 series IIRC after the flagship 280 card. the 550 is the lower-middle end version of the 580. So if you wanted the direct upgrade of your card you should be looking at the 560 at least, or 580 preferably.

[edit] Here is a review and benches of a 250 vs a 450

Please don't get the 550... At the very least, get the 6850 or higher... I would go for the 6950, but that's just me. I replaced two gtx 260s with dual 6950s. The 6950s are a major step up from the gtx 260. Keep in mind that you can sell your 260 to offset the cost of the upgrade...

i agree with manu 11 that card is a complete steal right now. it has better performance than most all of equal or lesser value. in the first couple of days that card was released it sold out, and thats when it was 160. and now thats its 140 its an even better deal.
