Hello,
A friend of mine who does not understand PC parts at all asked me to build him a new PC including a monitor and keyboard.
Approximate Purchase Date: this week or next week.
Budget Range: 1000-1100$
System Usage from Most to Least Important: watching movies, internet browsing, connect an LCD TV, games like DOTA or Diablo III only.
Parts Not Required: mouse - has a Razer Copperhead.
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: i`m not going to buy from any of the sites you know of, i`m from Romania, parts are a little more expensive here, my chosen site is www.pcgarage.ro. I`d say in Romania everithing is around 20% more expensive, thats why i cant use your guides so well.
Country of Origin: Romania
Parts Preferences: I`d like to get him
Inter I3 Core 2100 3.10GHz
ASRock H67M rev. B3 mobo
Corsair H60 liquid Cooler
Kingston HyperX XMP 4GB DDR3 1333MHz CL7 DC
Gigabyte Radeon HD6850 OC 1GB DDR5 256-bit
Corsair Builder CX500W V2,
Seagate 750GB SATA-III 7200 RPM 32 MB Barracuda,
LED AOC E2343FS 23 inch 5 ms monitor
NOX NX-1evo Case
Microsoft Keyboard 600 and DVI cable + Bitdefender Antivirus 1y
--PS.
I`m also debating to go for an AMD setup using all those parts but an AMD Athlon II X4 640 cpu and/or AMD 6790 video card.
Overclocking: No
SLI or Crossfire: No
Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080
Additional Comments: I tried using all the recomended parts on Toms, like going for the Budget Intel Recommended PC 1000$ but that build will cost him around 1400$ here, so its a no good.
Things that will stay nomather what: The H60 Cooler, PSU Corsair ONLY brand, LED AOC Monitor.
For example an i5 Core 2500K is 260$ in my country.
The i3 2100 is 175$ .
An 6850 AMD Card is around 250-270$ for an ideea.
I believe all who see the top parts know them very well, no need for links i believe. Can you please tell me what is the bottle neck in that configuration and should i use an Intel dual core with HT or an AMD physical quad-core ? The video card is very good in my opinion, i could also use an nVidia 550ti or with any luck 560. I`m trying to find a balanced configuration.
Future upgrades might be the CPU and extra DDR3. The rest will remain untouched.
What do you think and where did i go wrong.
Any recomendations please post and i`ll tell you if they go in the budget.
