Multiplier Vs. FSB

Hello forums,

here's something I've been wondering. Is there any point in raising the FSB on an unlocked multi CPU? Assuming you can set the RAM multi, NB, HT and core clock multipliers all separately to their desired values is there any point in touching the FSB? Or are there still some parts of the system directly controlled by the FSB instead of multipliers?

More about multiplier
  1. There are still some parts controlled by the FSB therefore unlocked multiplier makes overclock easy because you will not have to mess with those settings. For maximum overclock though fiddling with the FSB is often necessary even on a unlocked CPU (excluding the new Intel core CPU's)
