I bought a BIOSTAR H61MHB and instead of explaining the whole story, just know that I ended up with a i5-2500k(yes I know I cant overclock). I was going to get a i5-3450 but was told that since Ivy Bridge Cpu are a 22nm processor, I would have to update the bios on the motherboard first. My question is, with the i5-2500k, am I going to have to update the Bios before installing that processor also?

went to the mb vendor web page there only one bios update and that for the ib cpu. you should be fine to drop the cpu in and have fun.

Thank you for the reply. I did go to the biostar website and seen that the only download was for the Ivy Bridge Processors but wasn't sure if I would run into any problems. Thank you very much for the response!
