I have recently acquired a GA-Z77-D3H, and want to port another system to the new hardware. At first blush, I'm not able to because of the UEFI BIOS.

Is there a backward compatibility mode which will allow me to boot the way BIOS does with a MBR, etc. Or do I have to wait for the next implementation of Slackware to do it.

System specifics
GA-Z77-D3H with 3770k, 8gb Patriot memory
OCZ ssd
no DVD/CD
Slackware 13.37

Thanks.

Actually Slackware 13.37 has the tools that you need to do this. Gdisk is enough. I recommend reading this first:
