HD 6870, Screen goes black, Fans hit 100%

HI guys need some help here, i rarely get this problem as my screen goes black and fans hit 100% , have to hard boot to get outta this.


Temperatures are 50C vid card ideal & 85C while in game.

Specs are:
Intel Q8400 2.6GHz
ATI 6870HD (Not overclocked)
4GB DDR2 RAM
Intel DG41RQ Motherboard
PSU - Vip Gold 500W

I also read others have the same problem with a better psu of 800w.

you have a horrible PSU. Replace it before your computer blows up.forget about the 500w rating its probably a max rating and i doubt the psu could live up to that. also read this http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/314447-33-6870-500w-gold-smps
Its an old psu and is also poor quality, replace it with something good like antec, seasonic or corsair. Also your 85C temp is a little high. Do you have any exhaust fans in your case? if you dont, get at least 1 rear exhaust fan.

yeah i guess ur right with the smps,
but the tem is normal here as i live in india n its hot here

A good PSU could help the temps stay a little lower. If your current PSU isn't giving enough power to the GPU, components can run hot.
