I am currently thinking on buying an athlon dual core, adding an upgraded cooler and unlocking two more cores and a 6mb L3 cache. But i was wondering if i can do that to a sempron as well. the cooler i'm getting is relatively high end so it can handle 4 OCed cores. I want to save money on a budget gaming rig but i don't want to have a crappy processor.
Also i don't want to hear anything about i5's or x6's THOSE ARE WASTES OF MONEY
UNLESS YOU ALREADY GOT 4x580's AND AN SSD BOOT DRIVE DON'T GO ANY HIGHER THAN A PHENOM QUAD
(for a gaming rig) THERE IS ALWAYS BETTER GRAPHICS THAT CAN BE PURCHASED FOR THE MONEY SACRIFICED FROM THE PROC!!!!!!!(unless it's like ten bucks, if so then MAYBE)
