good day,i just have a few questions about this video card.

im planning to buy this card next week, but my concern is that im still using a AOC 771S 17" CRT Monitor,it seems it doesnt like to retire on me,and its still working good as new,and i dont want to replace it until its completely useless. Is the HD6850 good in a 17" CRT Monitor? (1024x768)

another concern of mine is,the performance of the HD6850 with an Athlon II X2 250 (3.0) processor. i've read in some forums that the processor is bottleneck to the card and it favors more on Quad Core processors.Although im planning to buy a Quad Core procie after 2 months or so after buying a video card,so im gonna be using the Athlon II X2 250 for some time.

CRT monitors last a long time, I've still seen plenty of old console tvs still working. But lcds do use a lot less electricity and I can find 19" for $50. Anyways on topic. The 6850 is fine for that resolution and is an overkill I think. The x2 250 should not bottleneck a 6850.

yeah I had a 240 at 3.6ghz and at stock (2.8) it seemed to bottleneck my 5770 a good deal (that is at 16X10). Now with the ops resolution the performance will be even more reliant on the cpu..... With the overclock I was getting much better frames although I was still held back with games that like a healthy quad

tnx for the reply guys,i really appreciate it =)

oh btw heres my current spec:
AMD Athlon II X2 250 (3.0ghz)
Asrock 890GX Extreme3
4gb (2x2) G.Skill Ripjaws 1600 CL9
500gb Western Digital Caviar Blue
AcBel iPower 85h 500w

im still choosing a video card:
6850,6790,6670 based on your comments guys, its hard to get a 5770 here in our place bcoz of the new 6790 and 6670 card.
if i will get a 6850,of course i will still upgrade my procie so it wont be bottleneck, but maybe after a few months or so.Regarding my monitor,i dont know when will i replace it,its still running good, but of course it will retire on me one day =)

hehe tnx for the reply, seriously i want to throw this CRT away coz i think im lagging behind technology, but this CRT of mine doesnt like to get out of its throne lol.

i think this CRT of mine will still last a year or more.like i said i wont replace the monitor until its really useless hehe (and i dont know where to throw this thing after i ditch it lol)

Play a game or 2 on a 23" LCD monitor with 1920x1080 resolution which can be found for around $150 and you'll be sorry you stuck with that CRT for so long due to what you've been missing (the wide screen viewing angle and larger screen size will keep you from ever wanting to go back) and getting that would also make the choice of a 6850 and new quad much more reasonable !
