More about what
  1. You don't need power supplies that powerful for a simple X-fire setup. 750 or at tops, 800 watts is all you need.
  2. 1000 watts will run 2 5970's fine
  3. but more power cant hurt right?

650 Watt or greater power supply one 75W 6-pin and one 150W 8-pin PCI Express® power connectors recommended (850 Watt with two 75W 6-pin and two 150W 8-pin connectors for ATI CrossFireX™ technology in dual mode)

Just ya wallet and occasionally case temperature.

If you have an Antec 1200, P183, P193, DF-85, then Id get the CP-850 .... anything else, the Corsair AX850
