Can TV Tuners cards in computer go bad

Hello,
For 2 years my computer has been hooked up to my Samsung TV 46IN TV LN46A650. My computer is a DELL STUDIO 560S and now it doesn't have any type of display. Sometimes the option for safe mood comes up, but then I get on the TV screen Mode Not Supported. Dell seems to think that the TV Tuner went bad. Is this possible?

Yep.

All electronics eventually fail. It might be after 1 year, it might be after 5 years.

You can test it by installing it in another computer if your friends / family doesn't mind.

anything can fail. if your getting no display at all. its more likely to be faulty video card, ram, motherboard, psu.

I don’t think that you have a fault and that the error message the TV is giving you is correct. Your computer graphics card is giving a resolution or refresh rate that is not supported by your TV. You need to set the graphics card to a resolution or refresh rate that is supported by your TV monitor. This may prove hard to do if you cannot see the display. Try booting and hitting the F8 key to get the boot menu and select VGA mode.
