Hey, im going to be building a new computer in the next few months. i would like to use this computer to play modern video games, use programs such as maya, 3dsmax and zbrush. i dont think this really matters much but i also plan to use a waecom tablet (i think its how u spell it). i have used centre com to come up with some possible options, as the title says id like to keep the price around 1500 australian dollars. and i am going to build for the first time. i have a few friends that have told me some things but i want to get a broader view on this.

so these are the products im looking at getting. if you have any advice or suggestions i would really like to hear them.

^+1. Also, that RAM is a triple channel set, of which he can only use 2 sticks. A dual channel set will work better and should be cheaper.

You should be getting a P67 or Z68 motherboard, not an H67 board, because you can't OC on an H67 board. If you're never going to OC, get an i5-2500 or 2400 and save a few bucks.

Look for a Corsair, XFX, Antec, or Seasonic power supply. They're more reputable than Cooler Master's PSUs.

Can you get a Samsung F3 hard drive cheaper than that WD Black? It's a faster drive and should be cheaper (at least, it is in the US).

You could drop down to a 6950 and get great performance at 1920x1080.

I feel like you should be getting more for your money; $1200 is enough to build an awesome rig here in the US with a monitor, and the prices you're listing are very similar to US prices.

yeah, go with a dual channel memory , at 1920 x 1080 , 6950 or 560ti are enough.
+1 for f3 spinpoint
drop down to a 2400 or 2500 if you are not overclocking.
else everything looks great

no probs man, they have a custom build service too. So you can select all your parts and see what the cost is, and even get them to put it together with a 1 year warranty for around 150.00 depending on postage.

Do you plan on over clocking your cpu? That's what we need to know. As far as prices...the Oz dollar is strong, and Oz has some good sites.

the storm enforcer didn't get the best reviews but its all up to personnel taste. You can't rely on the manufacture's reviews suggest you look at youtube for reviews on enforcer.

in answer to your overclocking question you have to go into a menu and change multiplyers and voltage etc...there are some good guides out there on how to do this correctly, just dont have time to put in a link sorry buddy.

hey i read a review on the 690 II Advanced and its actually pretty good,
The reviewer has said that his ATI HD5970 graphics card is too long for this case.
would this mean i wouldnt be able to fit my 6950 in?
