hey guys, Im planning to buy an roccat kave 5.1 headset. But when i checked it out online, the audio jacks were 4. Since this for 5.1 sound setting my motherboard Gigabyte h61m-usb3-B3 said it supports 5.1 and 7.1 BUT! it only has 3 audio ports at the back....and the headphones need 4. SO, will i still be able to use this headset to its full capabilities if not, then should i buy an separate sound card? and lastly, why would my motherboard say its supports 5.1 if it doesnt have the right kind of built in sound card?

thanks in advance!

Based on a quick google search, no. It looks like the only three jacks built in are:

Stereo Output [green]
Line Input [blue]
Microphone Input [pink]

Sennheiser and Logitech have nice surround headphones that you should look into if you decide you need to switch because of the jacks. USB is the best way to go by the way. Sound is crystal.

i really like this headset...i live in the Philippines and sennheiser medusa 5.1 dont exist here haha...also, the logitech 5.1 is kinda wimpy compared to the kave 5.1 since it has a desktop controller thingy which is cool and the noise cancellation is also a bonus. If you guys can suggest an affordable sound card instead? around $50?

^^ ASUS Xonar DS is the best bet in that range. The Xonar D1/DX and HT Omega Striker are more capable though, if you're willing to go up to around $80 or so.

unfortunately for me, those sound cards are around P15,000 bucks here. which is waayy over 200 dollars. I just want to use it for music/movies, will the 5.1 actually make mp3 files sound a lot better than 2.1 headphones/speakers?
