Does my fps sound right for a gtx 460 768MB>

I just upgraded my gpu from a gtx 275 to a gtx 460 768mb just to play just cause 2 and some other games maxed at my relatively low resolution of 1680X1050.I used these settings for the game
Textures high
shadow qualtity medium
anti aliasing 2x
AF 16x
Decals,Soft particles,high res shadows on
ssao high
bokeh filter high
gpu water simulation off
object detail high
water detail very high

With these settings I get around 37 fps average in the game.Is my fps right?MY processor is a core i7 870 and a 600w psu

  1. GTX 270 ? There isn't a GTX 270. You mean a GTX 275 ?

Ok, so what were your FPS before getting a GTX 460 768 MB. If you upgraded your GTX 275 for a GTX 460 768 mb, you just made a mistake. The GTX 460 768 MB cannot beat the GTX 275.

The only upgrade you got was upgrading from a DX10.1 card to a DX11 card

The GTX 460 1GB version is better and it beats the GTX 275 but its not a worthy upgrade. You just downgraded your GPU.

Sorry made a typo there. Its a 275.The gtx 460 768mb is only 10% slower than the 1GB version and as for being slower thats not possible

the 460 768mb beats the 275.In just cause I did get an improvement but the game keeps feeling laggy.one moment I get 70 fps and the moment I turn towards some trees or grass I get 33 fps.Now even though my minimum fps is constantly above 30 this input lag is making the game unplayable. Is there any setting in the nvidia control panel I can change to stop this input lag.
  3. I wouldn't count on that. There isn't much difference between them in some of the cases. At some situations, the GTX 275 beats the GTX 460 and some, the reverse happens.

Did you try with the Vsync on ? That can cap the frame rates to 30 if you want to.

vsync is off as just cause 2 does not have inbuilt triple buffering
  5. Just turn FRAPS off and enjoy the game. Any framerate around 30 will be totally playable. You're probably just seeing the FPS drop and associating that with "lag" rather than actually experiencing lag in the game....

    @majin
Well, that is true. Just Cause 2 on requires about 30 FPS to run smooth. But jumping down from 70 FPS to 30 FPS is quite noticeable.
You should try and cap the frame rates through the nvidia control panel, by forcing on the vertical sync and tripple buffering.
