I guess this is one of the best gaming headsets.

I want to get one for my pc. However, I want to ask if I am only using the onboard sound card (ASUS p8z68 V-LE), what is the best sound I can get with the MixAmp? Can I still have the 5.1 by the MixAmp by that?
Also, Is that if I don't get the MixAmp, I can only get stereo at best?
I am a bit confused on getting the MixAmp or not.

Depends on how you set it up. If you use oly the usb cable you get sound and mic created by the mixamp (only main volume control will work). If you hook up the pc's optical out to the mixamp then you you get sound created by the motherboard and the mixamp handles the mic functions (balance as well as main volume will work.

How about the 5.1 Dolby thing?

Dolby 5.1 qualifies as 'sound'. Both your Mobo and Mixamp support upto 8 channel sound, Ie - Dolby7.1.

So choose which device you want as the sound processor and hook it up accordingly.

I have a Gigabyte board and trying to figure out how to get the chat working.
