Computer not booting when GPU is connected.

hi,
I have a 9800GT (which requires a 6 pin power connector), i have a CM 500W 12V1, 12V2 with 18 Amps each. i have been running it succesfully for a couple of years.
Yesterday , i tried turning on my computer , but the lights jus came on for about half a second and then nthin...

So i thought it was a PSU( SMPS) problem and got another one, upon replacing the PSU, everything worked fine , the fans , the Cpu , but there was no display , then i realized that i had not connected the 6 pin power connector into my GPU. i turned everything off and connected hte 6 pin connector, but the same problem again.
So , then i put back my Cooler Master 500 w PSU and n purpose did not connect my Gpu with the 6 pin connector and the computer power up normally and then upon reconnecting the 6 pin connector the its wasnt getting switched on...

Please suggest where the problem can , PSU , GPU , mobo?

CPU : core2dup E7200 - 2.53 Ghz
Ram : DDR2 4Gb
Gpu : XFX 9800 GT
Mobo: A-bit IP 35 OFF-ROAD Edition
PSU : Cooler Master 500 W

Maybe something in the graphics card is busted? I don't see what else since the computer works fine without it. Do you have another one you could test?

+1^ I second checking the video card, a 9800 should run on a 500w power supply so it's not that you are not getting enough power to the card.
