Want advice to buy a PC (Processor & Motherboard)?

Hi, I am a VFX & animation student, I have lot a application like MAYA,3DMAX,MUDBOX,Adobe AE,Photoshop, FUSION, MatchMover, Oracle, SQL etc.
Most i use these software for rendering.
I am confused whether to buy an intel processor or amd?
Could someone help?
I already have purchased NVIDIA Quadro 2000 graphic card for rendering,but this card should give optimum performance.



My Budget is $500 & i can increase that to $600. (Both together)
I might thing of overclocking the processor later, so i dont want a locked procesor.

I am confused between AMD & Intel, because is dont know what the above software requires, is it more cores, multi-threading or L2-L3 cache more.
I dont know what should i check for.


I wants to use 16GB RAM (8x8), which one should i buy & what should i look for before buying the RAM. I dont have cooler, i have basic ATX cabinet with 400W SMPS.

If i increase RAM 16GB or 32GB, with Intel i7 2600k,Asus P8P67 Pro & Nvidia Quadro 2000 graphic, should i require a better SMPS & which one it should be?

many of those apps are mutlithreaded. If you cant wait for Intel's Ivy Bridge processors (march 2012 I think) then I would suggest in i7-2600k. I would also suggest a Z68 motherboard with pcie3.0 just for easy future upgrading.

If you have $500 for the CPU + mobo get the i7 IMO. Those apps you list sound professional which means they should be able to use all available resources.

I will assume that you wan't overclock, so, the i7-2600 plus a P8P67 Pro are very solid options for you and fit in your $500 initial budget. Even, the 2600K cost $15 more and still keep your budget under $500 for both CPU and mobo.

I want to buy power suppy formy computer (SMPS), i have purchased I7 2600k & asus p8p67 pro.
Nvidia Quadro 2000 which works on onboard power supply.

Please suggest me a cheap & best one, approx $60.
