System Usage: Mostly gaming

Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse, monitor

Parts Preferences: i5-2500k.

Overclocking: never tried it but will definitely do with the 2500k

SLI or Crossfire: Keeping this option open

Monitor Resolution: 1440x900 but will be upgrading soon to a 1920x1080. not included in budget.

Additional Comments: would have gone with amd phenom II x4 but 2500k at microcenter just too good a deal! don't need to max out all settings while gaming so if you have any suggestions to lower the cost that would be great!

I wouldn't recommend SLI/Crossfire on that motherboard, the second card would be at x4 speed. Look for a board with x8/x8 crossfire, some of the Z68 boards are very well priced.
