Hello,

I'd really appreciate if someone would give me some suggestions about what could be wrong with my computer build. I have connected everything I believe should be connected, and I can turn the system on, but when I connect it to a monitor it just says "Check signal cable" or "No input." All the fans are spinning and motherboard light is on, optical drive works fine. The case is lighting up and it looks as if it is all working okay except for it says "Check signal cable".

Can anyone give me some suggestions as to what the problem may be?

I'd REALLY appreciate any help.

Sorry if I haven't made myself very clear but if you require more information please ask.

Cheers!

Sorry, I'll add a little more info:

1. The system speaker beeps 5 times, with the first beep slightly longer than the rest. Its an Asus mobo.

2. I've tried with 1 RAM module.

3. 12V ATX is connected, CPU fan is connected.

Obviously the beeps are going to lead to the problem, so could someone even show me how to find out what the mobo speaker beeps mean?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forums, Newcomer. To assist you, there are three options:

2. Click on the link in my signature, and work through the checklist
3. Browse this site for an explanation on the beep codes

Hi, I've already read the guide, but no avail...

ASUS P8H61 mobo
Intel i5 2500k CPU Socket 1155
2x4GB Corsair DDR3 RAM
Samsung 1TB SATA HDD
XFX Radeon HD 6870 GPU
800W PSU EZcool
Coolermaster Storm Enforcer Case

Thanks :)

Here is what I found regarding beep codes on this mobo:

1.4.2.1 Memory issue: Beep (1 long 2 short)

A Clean the Golden Finger of memory

B Clean the memory slots

C Leave only one memory stick to test

D If convenient, please change different memory to test again

1.4.2.2 Graphics card issue: Beep (1 long 3 short)

A. Clean the Golden Finger of graphics card

B. Clean the graphics card slots

C. Try to test the onboard graphics card if there is onboard VGA integrated

D. If convenience, please change different graphic cards to test again

1.4.2.3 CPU issue: Beep (5 short)

A. Check whether the CPU is in our CPU support list

B. Check whether there are any damagers of your CPU or CPU socket.

C. .Check whether the CPU fan is correctly connected

D. Check whether the ATX_12V power cable is connected well

E. If possible try to test with another CPU
