6990 vs CF 6970

I've saved up enough money to buy a second 6970 for CF. I have a few questions though. I bought the sapphire limited edition bfbc2, can I just buy a regular sapphire 6970 with the same core clock \ settings and run crossfire? This is my first CF build btw. Or, I'm helping a friend build his computer and he needs a 6970, I was thinking about selling him mine and just buying a 6990. My one question is, I only have a 750W 80+ certified PSU. Will that be enough to run it? Thanks

go with the cf. so much faster. and yes you can buy another one and run cf.

750W is enough to run the 6990 or two 6970s if you have enough amps on the 12V rail. You're safe with at least 52amps on the 12V for the two 6970 setup (less required for the 6990).

The two cards will net you higher frame rates.

Also, you can use the limited edition 6970 with the regular 6970, no problem. Good luck!
