Corsair XMS3 1600mHz not on the Supported list for my MB

..but the Asrock H77-pro4-mvp supports dual channel 1600mhz ram.

I foolishly didn't check the supported RAM list on the manufacturers site before I went and bought an 8gb kit (2.4gb) Corsair XMS3 1600mhz. 9-9-9-24 1.50v

I'm about to start a build - got all the gear out, ready to go but now I'm not sure if I'm safe to go ahead.

The board definitely does support Dual Channel DDR3 1600. Is this all the info I need?

..or do I need to return the RAM and get something else from the supported list?

You're fine, the H77 unlike the H67 supports up to DDR3-1600 and the kit listed is a 1.50v version of the XMS series. In the BIOS simply set the XMP (on) and to Profile1; refer to manual.

all motherboards support almost all RAM brands
even if your motherboard don't support 1600mhz ,it will underclock it to 1333
