Display problems

I have a Geforce 9800 GTX card and intel Quad core processor with 2 GB Ram. My Monitor is HP w2408. Of late when i boot the desktop it shows scrambled display. Please help.

Could you elaborate the situation a bit?

Thanks a bunch for the response. When i switch on the desktop, the display is scrambled and the computer freezes. It looks similar to this.

If i reboot the system, the problem persists.
