You know....I tend to ask myself this question a lot. Why do we keep increasing in processor speeds when all the rest of our components are slow as A%#. I mean seriously. Our hard drives crank out data at a whopping 30mb/sec sustained. SCSI isn't much faster. I guess the industry just doesn't see the big picture. thus we are stuck with laggy computers no matter how fast our CPU's are. Don't even get me started on memory speed and bus speed. =)

You are right, CPU's have left the rest of the computer behind.

Especially memory. Long time ago the memory speed worked with the same speed as the processor. Now? the difference is like 1:10. But we cannot help. Technology moves the way people demand.

Morgan 1.6Ghz + 256DDR = Dream on
However dreams are approacable

It's all about bragging rights. You accentuate your best feature, not your worst. Like if you can bench 300 pounds but have a big butt, you're not going to tell people about your big butt, you're gonna brag about how much you can bench.
