Hi guys
After a week of getting BSOD on startup and my cpu fan running insanely loud for no apparent reason my computer crashed yesterday when my brother tried to play left 4 dead 2. Now whenever i start it up i get a a 2 consecutive flashes every 2-3 seconds. What's also interesting is that only one fan is working, which is the fan connected to the motherboard. My other 2 fans and my cathodes are not working and they are connected directly to the power supply. I'm pretty sure they were working the first time i switched my computer on after it wasn't working. I've been playing Battlefield 3 recently but stopped as soon as my temps were hitting 80c which for me was unusually high, even with a stock cooler. I thought it was just the game but there might have been another problem. The stock CPU fan would always start spinning really fast from any simple task like watching a movie or Youtube in HD.

My specs:
Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P Motherboard
Phenom 955 (With Stock cooler, need to upgrade cooler)
2GB XMS3 RAM
600W Zalman ZM600HP
500GB Seagate HDD
320GB Western Digital HDD

The light is the one closest to the 6 pin plug which i believe to be D1602 which indicates an External 12V Power Fault.

First thing to do would be check the power supply outputs with a multimeter then I guess.

Though I imagine you would've done this already if you had one.

It would be handy to check it if you do suspect it and return it to Zalman (assuming it's in warranty)

NExt thing, if it was the power supply, you could also have damaged hardware.

Do you have an alternate supply to replace and test?

Yes I do but that is the problem. I am in no condition to change the PSU and the only other person who can do it is my brother who is away at uni. I will give it a try today though

Just checked and I feel pretty stupid. The computer still won't come on but all fans and cathodes are still working. I just forgot to put the modular cables back in. Now its d1602 flashes twice and then flashes once every few seconds

I tested my old PSU and it showed the same error which actually is quite a relief. Any further suggestions? Faulty gpu maybe
