Unknown 3870 x2 HELP!!

ATI hasn't made graphics cards for some time?? Really?

There's exactly 42 of them for sale on Newegg right now.

But seriously, it has to say on the card somewhere the brand. Probably near the serial number or on the board itself.

It IS possible it was made by ATI.

ATI definitely mad cards after the x1800xt as I have an x1900xtx. ;^P

On the bottom of the card should be stickers with various serial numbers on them. You should be able to plug the numbers into Google until you come up with a specific card and manufacturer. For example. look at this picture:

if you plug in the innocent looking number number on the green sticker on the right
21122-00
Google will give you results for a Sapphire Radeon 3870 512MB
and that is completely correct.

I did say might have been. AFAIK they stopped making cards. Here is an article from 2006 when AMD bought ATI where they talk about ATI being "fabless".

Like Nvidia and AMD, ATI at that point wasn't making the chips, nor the cards. (again, as far as I know.) Like Nvidia's GTX590 its possible they made a few special cards, but I don't remember hearing about this. The launch of the 2xxx or perhaps as late as the 3xxx cards would be the end of them having cards made by ATI.

Can you link a couple of them? Using the search feature and looking at manufacturer, I can't find AMD or ATI.
