If I'm correct, ASUS and Intel are on par with one another; as both are used in different Mac systems. I would buy an ASUS model, but there's no real reason as to why for me.

Intel boards are rock solid for reliablity. The downside is its very limited in features and OC options. I use intel boards that runs 24x7 and it just keep going.

ASUS is very good in features and performance. OC features are also very good. It gets expensive at times.

For every generation of boards (socket platform) its always a good practice to refer to motherboard reviews. Its not automatic that these companies make the best products. Sometimes other brand are better.
