I have a 5870 and was thinking of upgrading it but might leave it until I make a new build with the newest cpus and graphic cards.

So does anyone have any ideas when AMD or Nvidia will be releasing their next generation graphic cards. And just curious what die size will be used?

Well, ATI has their HD 6000 series and NVIDIA have their Geforce 500 series as of now.

No news about newer graphics card series are there. The newer products may arrive during the christmas holidays this year ( pure speculation and nothing else )

nVidia might release new series Q3 this year, but i believe they will release them Q1 2012, AMD really wants to send out their new series as fast as possible, so they might come Q3 this year or Q1 2012, just like nVidia

This is insane. The 6000 and 500 series just came out, and those were released far sooner than generations have been in the past. There are almost no games out there that can utilize the increasing power of hardware. Oh well, hopefully this means the price of current gen will drop.
