Hi,

I am in the process of building my own gaming computer and have decided on a creative labs sound blaster x fi titanium fatal1ty champion series sound card. I chose this just because it is a well known card for gamers world wide and got good reviews.

Today i went downstairs and noticed we had a home theater system we never installed because we didnt want to rip out the carpet to do the wiring and id like to use this home theater system with my computer if possible. its by the brand prima and its model number is HT-Tw57P

I hooked it all up and the speakers and cords. the dvd player is broken but i wont be useing it anyway, but when tapping the 6 rca cords i do get a little sound from each of the 4 speakers as well as the center and sub woofer so it is all hooked up propperly. I was just wondering....how the heck to i fit 6 rca cords onto this sound card. is there a different sound card you would recomend. would i need a spechial adapter and would it even all fit then. and is plugging 6 rca cords into a sound card even possible.

thanks for any and all help. im stuck till i get an answer, and sorry for the typos, was in a rush.

that thread title should say acr cords not adapters...whoops

All you really need is to use several RCA->3.5mm converter cables. The connector that soundcards use (TRS) carries two audio channels, where RCA carries only one. So you would need a converter cable for every two RCA connections.

thanks that helps a lot. i will be looking for the converters then. so these 3.5mm jacks would just be the line out 1-4 on the creative labs sound blaster x fi titanium fatal1ty champion series correct?

Theres not a whole lots of sense hooking a decent soundcard to such a low end HT system imo. I would suggest you use the onboard sound first and if that doesnt suit your listening needs then go ahead and purchase a sound card.
