Decisions, decisions...6870 vs 6950 1GB

Hey, all!

I'm looking to upgrade my videocard here within the next couple of months. I have 2 picked out, but I can't really decide on which to get. I did a lot of research, and it's just too close to call.

I would like to either get this Gigabyte 6870:

or a 6950 1GB.

The benchmarks show that the cards are roughly 5-10 FPS apart, and the Gigabyte card is designed to overclock, which would further decrease that separation. Also, the 2 cards are only about $15 apart.

Whatever card I'll get, I will most likely overclock. I know that the Gigabyte 6870 has unlocked voltage, but do any of the 6950 1GB? That was my only real sticking point about the 6950's.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

If you are going to overclock you probably should get the 6950. Even if you get a 6870 that has an unlocked voltage control, it doesn't overclock very well, and you probably would not get a worthwhile performance boost, the card would become unstable before you could clock it up far enough to get a decent performance boost.
