i m building a decent rig for my gaming, that can last me for 5-6 years and my budget is also limited
i wan t some suggestions choosing my processor
1)i5 2500K (210-220$)
2)i7 950 (260-290$)
3)i7 2600k (310-320$)
which one i should buy? so then i can search my motherboard accordingly. or u guys can suggest which mother board best suits with which processor

For gaming right now the Intel® Core™ i5-2500K is one of the best gaming processors on the market. With the improvements of the 2nd generation Intel Core processors have an edge over the older 1st gen processors like the Intel Core i7-950. Also because so few games can take advantage of more than 3 threads the value hyper-threading on the Intel Core i7-2600K has very little value in a gaming environment. That leaves the difference between the Intel Core i7-2600K and the Intel Core i5-2500K as 100Mhz and 2MB of cache for the $100 dollars difference in price.

2500K over 950 for gaming; are you only gaming or doing anything else as well (rendering, encoding?)

If you can wait a week the FX series will be out soon and you will likely see price drops from Intel

Games now don't use 4+ cores but future games will. If you want to be gaming 5 years from now get a FX-8150 or 2600K, an SLi or CfX motherboard, and a GTX 580, 590 or HD 6990. These will be adequate in 5 years, anything less will be questionable.

Do you know anyone gaming with a 7800 GT?
