P8Z77-v Deluxe AI Suite II Utility

Hi everyone,

Just purchased an ASUS P8Z77-v Deluxe MB and a 3770K CPU.

Anyone have any problems with the AI Suite II "additional ASUS apps" software utility program or installing any of its applet components from the DVD?
It's listed as an "all in one interfac"e that integrates several ASUS utilitites which can be launched. Probably the same for the PRO and Premium boards.

Don't have any experience with the ASUS utilities but other MB utilities (like Gigabtye's EZ Tune or @BIOS) are not recommended as they don't install properly or interfere with normal functioning.

Would appreciate hearing if there are any specific add in appls that should be not installed or avoided.

Also anyone know what the 3 LED's listed on the MB as ID_LED1, ID_ED2, ID_LED3 do? They are mid board near the SATA connectors -

The manual page 2-21 states they "provide an elegant embellishment to the motherboard design"!!! How informative. Don't find any other information about them. The other LED's on the MB describe their use and functionality, such as troubleshooting component booting, or if a switch, like the TPU, is enabled.

Any sage info or a URL with helpful would be apprecieated.
Thanks,

John VK

  1. Hey John - longtime :)

My advice from day 1 is not to use the AI Suite unless it's an absolute must. As far are the ID LEDs my understanding is their indicators for the Intel, Marvell and ASMedia controllers.
