Hello,
After researching a lot, i am stuck between these graphic cards-
1.MSI 6850
2.MSI GTX 460 1GB
3.MSI GTX 46O 768 MB
I play games on resolution 1360x768
I live in India
I am getting 6850 for Rs.9900($225)
I am getting 460 1 gb for rs.10500($235)
i am getting 460 768 mb for Rs.8500($190)
Which one should i choose.
I guess 6850 and 460 perform equally.
Is it worth to spend extra money on 6850 or 460 1 gb because i think that 460 768 mb can handle all my games on my res
Is there any other cheaper card that will be good?

^That's what I was wondering because the 6870 would be much better.

As it stands though... 460 768mb. Your resolution is low and I've seen in a lot of reviews that Nvidia cards for some reason pull ahead at lower res, while AMD cards seem to do better at high res. I don't know why. But yeah. And the extra VRAM isn't really going to do anything for you so yeah, the cheapest card is going to probably be the best one for your situation.

Thanks .I think i will go for 460 768 mb.But is there any other cheaper card that can be good for my res.

Hard to say, your prices are very inflated.

Sapphire just released the 5850 Xtreme for $150 in NA, it's basically the same as a 460 1gb performance wise.

Also a 5770, 6790, 550 Ti might be good choices. I encourage you to check some benchmarks and compare the prices available to you to get the best deal but any of these should get you max graphics settings in almost any game.

From these 3, on that res. i'd pick 768MB 460, imo it's not worth to pay 35$ more for only ~10% better performing 6850, or 1GB 460, which is few percent behind 6850. Also Sapphire 5850 Xtreme is quite cheap these days and is over 10% better than 460 1GB, maybe it's also cheap in India?

basically the same performance wise? See, I was all set to get a GTX 460 1 gig because I heard that Nvidia had better drivers for gaming in Stereoscopic 3D than AMD, but then I found out about that $150 5850, and I had heard that the 5850 was considerably better than a 460, but you're saying the performance is about the same.

This makes me think I should jump back on the Nvidia train for the better S3D drivers and compatibiltiy with 3DTV's (Nvidia 3DTV Play).

The 5850 is generally better, but they're very close. The 5850 pulls ahead most at the higher resolutions. For 3D though you should definitely just stick with Nvidia.

I checked the prices of 5850 here and it is much expensive than 6850 and it is out of my budget.I think 550 ti is overpriced for its performance .But i am interested in 6790.What are your views about it.Is it better than gtx 460 768 mb
