I bought a GTX 550 Ti but after doing some more homework I bought the wrong card. I am going to take it back and exchange it for another one in it's price range but I need some advice in choosing a replacement.
The card cost $154.99 and I am not looking to spend anything more than $199.99.
I was thinking about a GTX 460 1 gig but that doesn't allow for DX11 (if I am not mistaken) so that lost some appeal. I've gone back and forth between several ATI cards, so I definitely need some advice narrowing the filed down.
Yes you are mistaken about the 460 and DX 11. The 460 is DX 11 and a faster card than the 550 Ti, the only advantage to the 550 is that it uses less power. I reccomend the 460 unless you have a really weak power supply. On the ATI side the 6850 is good in that price range, very similar performance to the 460.
In what way is the 550 Ti the "wrong card" though? Were you just unhappy with its performance or did you have some troubles with it?
