G'day I am wondering what mobo I should go with for my new build:

CPU: Intel Core i7 2600k (OC ~4.7GHz planned)
COOLER: Noctua D-14 or Coolermaster V8 (looks better)
RAM: 16GB (4x4GM) G.Skill Ripjaws X 1600
GPU: Powercolor 4GB 6990 OC (CF in future / possibly CF 2 * 6970s instead)
CASE: HAF-X
PSU: Corsair AX1200 Gold
SSD: 120GB OCZ Vertex 3
HDD: WD Caviar Black 2TB
DVD/CD: Samsung SH-B123A Blu-ray DVD combo
COOLING:
- 2 additional Coolermaster red LED 200mm mega flow fans possibly another smaller fan
- Lamptron FC5 V2 Controller (dont like running that many fans off mobo)

Budget: $3,000 AUS
Resolution: 3*24" eyefinity (6024*1080)
Usage: Gaming, Graphic Design (photoshop illustrator), 3D Modelling, very small amount of video editing

Mobo: considering ASRock Z68 Extreme 4

Is something like the ASUS Maximus Extreme IV Z worth the extra cost?
or ASUS P8Z78-V Pro?
or Gigabyte UD7?
or other suggestion?

(6Gbps SATA and USB 3.0 are wanted (2*USB 3.0 fine))

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I think that ASRock mobo would do the job nicely but the x16/x16 CF on that ASUS would be handy with such a high end GPU. I think the ASUS would probably be worth it but the ASRock would also be perfectly decent.

Cheers for the replies

Don't know much about the ASUS P8B WS, will check it out.

Is the Maximum Extreme 4 worth the additional $100 over the UD7? I'm having my doubts now.

I'm thinking UD7, thanks.
