Thermal paste expiration?

I'm doing a new build 2500k w Hyper 212 EVO.

Do I need to buy thermal compound? I have half of a 2g syringe of Mosscool Fanner-420 from a build 2 years ago. It's 50% silicon, 20% carbon, 30% metal oxide. Is it still good if I need it?

Yes, paste is just grease so as long as the cap stays on it will be ok. Squeeze a bit out and rub it between your fingers...is it hard and chalky or soft and spreadable. If the latter you are ok.
