Final note
i would be able to get the ares for under $400
where the 6990 will be $700

the 6990 is faster overall and MUCH faster in tesselation but it probably runs a little hotter and is louder. i think the ARES can OC a little better due to its lower temps.

For this price Ares is better, but i'd take a single GTX 580 *or SLI them* if you need so much performance and have a lot cooler and quieter system..

Yeah, the price for the ARES is good, But it is old tech.

U know 6990 is better, then why the question??
They are different series card BTW.
Ares was just a show off for rich people.

6990 much better choice thats the Top of the Line, if you got the 700$ and you want it go for it, you can always CF 2 6950 or something and get almost the same performance much cheaper tho.
