Hey!
I was playing a game and out of nowhere my computer just shut off and I thought the electricity had turned off. That is, until I smelled a burning smell and look down and my wire that connects PSU to the surge protector had a little spot that was slowly burning off (no real flames, but sparks certainly).
The wire is obviously done, but now I have questions:
What do you guys think is the problem?
Should I get a new wire and just test it? (risky!)
Or should I just get a new PSU cause hopefully I will be building a new one soon anyway?
My Electrical Engineer friend said that it had to be some pretty serious voltages to just burn it, so he thinks it is probably the PSU. The wire was pretty hot all across and I don't remember that it had any problems, but it's not like I look for them haha.

Some other things:
* The computer had been on for about 5 hours, although utilized only for the last 2 hours.
* Everything else that was connected to surge protector seems fine.
* The surge protector is pretty old
* Computer is a budget computer that is 2 years old (self-built), so pretty old parts
* PSU came with the case, I believe it's Raidmax 430 W
Thank you!
