Gateway LT2104u netbook Will Not Stay on.

Hello,
My LT2104U netbook was working fine then it shutdown on screensaver. I tried to revive it by moving the mouse and stimulating the touchpad with no success. The blue power on indication light in the front left corner comes on and immediately goes back off. Needless to say the computer will not stay powered. It seems like the on/off switch is not staying in the on position. Whats going on?
