Hi everyone.

I have a system whose configuration is as below

Gigabyte GA G31M ES2L S Series Easy Energy Saver Motherboard
160gb sata hard disk(ST 3160215A)
ddr2 ram 0.99 gb
intel core 2 duo processor e4600@2.4 Ghz
windows xp

I want to upgrade my system by buying a internal hard drive (1Tb or 500 gb whichever is feasible) and by extending my ram by 4gb.Is it possible to have ddr2 4g ram and will that do any good, increasing my system's performance??.
I don't know what kind of hard drive to buy, which fits my slots. I do gaming a lot. SO please give some advice regarding this.Tell me a feasible option for the better performance.
Let me know if you need any more details.

Thank You

Thanks for replying abekl. Why can't i buy a hard drive? .You mean it wont be available or wont be compatible with my motherboard??
I would go for the ram you suggested. :)

Most sorry for that. I completely ignored the hard drive. You need a SATA II hard drive. 500 GTB would be my recommendation. Here's a good one:
Western Digital Caviar Black WD5002AALX 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

Oh, and don't forget, you need a SATA cable to go with that hard drive:
Rosewill 19.7" Serial ATA III Blue Round Cable w/ Locking Latch Support 6 Gbps, 3 Gbps, and 1.5 Gbps transfer rate Model RCA-RU-19-SA3-90-BL
