Alrite guys im wondering if use may be able to help me. i have

8gb g skill rip jaws 7.cl 1600mhz

i can have it running at 1833 or higher but i will get higher lattency.
so wots best.


1600mhz at 7.cl
or
1833 at 9cl.

It's about the same overall performance, but 1833 may require you to overclock the cpu, where stability isn't guaranteed. You'll just have to try it.

And i was wondering if i got 2400mhz ram would it make any real diffrence. my cpu is at 4ghz. cheers guys

OK, u need to get more RAM. 8GB minimum!

Do u have x64bit windows?

yeh windows 64. i thought 8gb would be plenty cause it was 7cl ram. i didnt think any software that was out was ever gonna need more.

Forget 7cl.

The difference in speed is negligible. Get 1600MHz with XMP and be done.

i get 7.9 on windows rating for the ram.

Oh, I see : ) I thought u need a new one.

Your RAM would not overclocked that far at all. U can try it.

Its already @ 1.6 Volts, so u would have to push it way higher.

And that would not be good for the CPU.

I have 7.9 with Corsair Vengeance @ 1673MHz

it lets me put the ram to 1833 and runs fine when i use prime 95to test it and is ok. But when i increase the ram from 1600mhz to 1833 my cl goes to 9cl instead of 7cl at 1600mhz.
