Forum Graphics & Displays : Graphics Cards Missing Avivo Catalyst 11.4

Has anyone else had this issue ?
I have tried downloading it and installing it separately, that didn't work. I tried reinstalling the drivers and checking its ticked to be included, it was and the log file says its installed. But it isn't there.
I have looked under standard and advanced views.
Any ideas ?
Or do i just try a different driver ? Nice drivers except for this.

Under the 'Video' tab in the Control Center I have an 'AMD Video Converter'. Is that what you are looking for (and is not there) or are you looking for something else? Also, what card do you have (I see the above converter on my 4850).

All I know is 11.4 broke crossfire. Retarded. At first there wasn't even an option for it in CCC, then after a reboot the option is there in the left panel, but there's no options for actually enabling it. I just rebooted again, and now the checkbox is there for enabling it, but there's some drop down box which is empty, something about selecting the GPU combination... so I can't apply crossfire. WTF AMD! I swear whoever makes drivers over there is some kind of stupid.

That is bad. Is everyone having this problem or is it an isolated case?

Correct the video converter option is not there. Its a 5850 in the system in question.
I think im going to go for a differant driver and see if its the driver at fault.

Update... did another reinstallation of the latest drivers and it's working now. Still stupid to have to waste the time with it but I guess it was just a messed install (how? I don't know).

I recently went back to play Metro 2033 again, and I had a nice surprise. I don't know if it was drivers or maybe a game patch but I can now enable all settings max (including 4xAA and DoF) and the game is quite playable, generally 30-50fps (I think the min I noticed was 26 or 27). The benchmark showed 44fps average IIRC. Of course disabling just DoF or 4xMSAA improves FPS a lot, but last time I played through the game having both turned on caused FPS to drop right down to about 5. I used to think it was exceeding VRAM but I guess not.

FYI as for Avivo, it shows up in my installation package but I have not tried using it.

Difference in these cards is only the factory OC right?

I should say that is the only difference.
