So I'm building my new rig and am confused between the AMD Phenom II x4 955 or 965, I want to overclock, but since the 955 3.2GHz is not as much as the 965's 3.4GHz, I have second thoughts of getting the 965. BUt I keep thinking, if I were to overclock the 955 to 3.4 GHz, would it have the same temps as the stock 965? Or would it be higher? Is it worth it to get the 965 or 10 more dollars?

In general, 965s will OC higher than 955s because they are tested and binned higher by AMD. 970s and 980 will clock even higher for the same reason (but temps will be about the same per clock).
However, this is very hit-and-miss and there are no guarantees when OCing.

Is the chance of a higher OC worth $10 to you?

Wait for a few more days and go for bulldozers instead of PhenomII.Also I would like to mention that 955 , 965 and other higher x4s overclocks to near around same speeds(around 3.9GHz) on good aftermarket air coolers. So its best to go for 955 rev c3.
