I have a Dell Inspiron 1520. It currently has a T5250 1.5GHZ processor. I have read that a T9300 processor will work and be a good upgrade. I purchased a T9300 and installed it. Computer would not turn on. I sent the processor back and had another one sent, again, computer would not boot. I have the latest bios upgrade A09.

I would be greatful for any feedback. Please let me know if you need more information about the system.

Thank you rolli, this helps. I am new at this, why would the T9300 even fit into my mother board? You would think the pins would be different. Like I said, I am just learning.

Been a while since I read this but physically all 3 mobile sockets fit but are not compatible with each other electrically. Must be an Intel thing, somewhere in there I saw something that the T5xxx and T7xxx used the same version of the socket.
