Upgrading from Q6600

My PC consists of my trusty Q6600 and Gigabyte board with 4GB DDR2. Its still good but I have the upgrade bug with all this new stuff out and I want to jump on Sandy Bridge. I know Bulldozer is out soon but I don't care for AMD.

I'm looking forward to BF3 in October and want something decent enough to play it on my 23" LED. I'm thinking of buying a 2500K with an MSI G45 motherboard and 8GB DDR3. I'm a noob when it comes to Overclocking but I've read BT's guides and it looks easy enough.

Just had a quick look at the buyers guide and I think the Be Quiet Advanced is the way forward for temps and noise; I can't stand noise! MSI P67A-G45

With a low-midrange card like a GTX560 and playing BF3, there will be absolutely no need to overclock the cpu. Even with 2-GTX560ti, you still wouldn't need to overclock the cpu.

You would just be wasting electricity.

Ohhhh, that G45. I did think it was a bit weird, I thought all the S775 G boards were G41 or G43.
