Hello all,

So basically I need help with choosing the best computer for my work. I'm a university student and the computer will be used entirely for 3D modelling, animation, rendering (VRay) in 3DS Max and I will also be using Adobe CS5. These are the computer deals my local computer store have suggested. I would just like a second option before I spend a lot of money.

Deal #1 @ $599AU
Intel I7 2600 (3.40GHz)
H61 Sandy Bridge Motherboard
HD Sound Card on Board
1TB SATAII HDD
ATI Radeon HD5450 1GB
Dual Layer DVD Burner
4GB DDR3 1333
Tsunami Tower With PSU

Deal #2 @ $829AU
Intel I5 2400 (3.10GHz)
7.1 CH HD Audio on Board
Asus P8H67 Motherboard
Gigabit LAN on Board
1TB SATAII HDD
Nvidia GTX 550 1GB
LG Blu-Ray DVD Combo
G-Skill 8GB DDR3 1333nt
Asus Vento B22 Tower with PSU

Deal #3 @ $950AU
Intel I7 2600 (3.40GHz)
Asus P8H67 Motherboard
ATI Radeon HD6770 1GB
G-Skill 8GB DDR3 1333nt
1TB SATAII HDD
Gigabit LAN on Board
LG Blu-Ray DVD Combo Drive
Asus Vento B22 Tower with PSU

Deal #4 @ $1,180AU
Intel I5 2400 Sandy Bridge (3.10GHz)
7.1 CH HD Audio on Board
Asus P8H67 Motherboard
Gigabit LAN on Board
Nvidia GTX560 1GB
G-Skill 8GB DDR3 1333nt
2TB SATAII HDD
80Plus 700W PSU
Aerocool Cyborg X Tower
LG Blu-Ray DVD Burner

Which do you guys think will be best suited for my needs? They are also flexible with changing parts (I will just have to pay the difference). My budget is around the $1,300AU mark, I'm willing to spend extra money where it is worth it ie. help with rendering times.

Thanks in advance.

I would say Intel I7 2600K (K allows for overclocking which greatly improve cpu performnce and it also have hyperthreading with 8 threads)
G-Skill ripjaws 2x4GB DDR3 1600
P67 or Z68 mainbord (again for overclocking)
Corsair TX-750 V2 as PSU
1TB performance HDD such as WD black or Samsung T3
LG DVD burner, they are cheap but reliable, I doubt you need BD unless you want burn finished projects on it.
...and any GPU that fit your budget, probably in favor of nvidia as if i remember they have better support for purpose.

for 3ds max 2014 and 2013 buy i7 and 16 gb RAM with 2 gb Nvidia and that will work good.
if you need more HW then you need to go for XEON or dual processors with more RAM.
