I recently upgraded my PC to a Intel Pentium LGA775 E6600 and since I've already installed an Nvidia 9500 GT and 2 Gb of RAM, I'm wondering why I can't play Splinter Cell Conviction or CoD MW2 without the horrible, horrible lag. The wierd thing is, I also play NFS Carbon on my PC and I can max the graphics without a hitch. Sensible help, please.

512 MB and the RAM's are pretty much unmarked and unlabeled. Oh, and yes, I've checked for and downloaded the latest drivers. So it's not the games software that's messing my gaming up?

sorry, I meant MotherBoard by MB, my bad ;)

Do you know the speed of the RAM? are there any labels on it at all?

just to double check on the drivers. You are not using the beta ones nVidia put out for BF3 are you?

Download Cpu-z for more info on ram etc,
check out http://www.yougamers.com/gameometer/10213/ for minimum system req's on your games, it scans your pc and lets you know your weak point, if any
but generally I'd say you want 4Gb of ram in there and a better graphics card,
whats your power supply btw?

Well, if you play @ 1280x1024 on medium settings, it shoulnd't give problems, but anything beyond that, that GPU will not be able to provide smooth framerates.

For 1280x1024 on medium settings the 9500GT/2GB/E6600 will be plenty; I have played MW2 on a 512MB HD3650 with 1GB RAM and a 2.8GHz Pentium 4 and it was fine with those settings, and I've had 5 different 9500GT's and all were excellent light gamers.

Your hardware is definitely up to the task, but use CPU-Z and MSI Afterburner to make sure that the CPU/RAM/GPU are running at their rated speeds.

I ditched mine for a 57701Gb a while back, still using it now in fact till my new builds finished
Wow gets good frames, 50+ at 1680x1050 on ultra, (sun and shadows low cause I dont like them) and they're cheap as you like at the moment, probably cheaper on black friday or when the 7xxx series hits
